Volt is immediately hiring for a Maintenance Technician II in South Gate, CA.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician II, you will:

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Disassemble devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repair or replace defective parts in hydraulic equipment such as valves, motors, cylinders, and pumps; conditioning equipment such as grinding and abrasive blast machines; mobile hydraulic equipment; and other plant equipment as designated by the supervisor.
Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricate and clean parts.
Start devices to test their performance.
Conduct daily inspection and record-keeping of various pieces of plant equipment.

The ideal candidate will have:

The ability to read, analyze, and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings, manufacturer's literature, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond to questions from groups of supervisors or managers.
Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Problem-solving skills to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The ability to monitor equipment operating conditions and keep records of those conditions.
Experience using hand tools.

This is a full-time opportunity.

Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with possible Saturday shifts.

$25-$30/Hour
