and professionalism.ResponsibilitiesAircraft Mechanic II (SMM)
personnel shall perform a full range of aircraft sheet metal duties
including, but not limited to, disassemble, modify, repair, and
reassemble complex aircraft metal items and systems, e.g.,
bulkheads, airframes, spars, air scoops, wings, flaps, pylons,
sponsons, fuselages, skins, ribs, gussets, and fuel tanks. These
items and systems have combined straight and curved edges and
irregular curves and planes. A Sheet Metal Mechanic personnel shall
analyze and evaluate structural damage to metal systems and items;
develop patterns using a combination of parallel and radial line
development; fabricate, install, and repair a variety of items and
systems made from a wide variety of metals, e.g., stainless steel,
copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb, alloys, aluminum; replace
sections and patch old systems; cut, bend, shape, and form metals
for items that have numerous irregular angles, planes, and curves
with varying pitch and circumference; use a variety of assembly
joints, complex fastening systems, riveted or welded joints, drill
or punch holes; and assemble or repair items by seaming, soldering,
bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, and spot welding. Assembly
methods shall meet appearance and strength standards, as well as
critical tolerances. As a condition of employment, Contractor
personnel will be required to pass a FRCSW administered
certification skills examination. Contractor personnel shall use
precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, snap
ring, height, depth, dial and screw pitch gauges, squares, rulers,
trammel points, and sine bars.
- Perform Depot Level Maintenance on H-53 aircraft metal and
composite parts.
- Must be able to perform all duties associated with the Depot
Level repair of H-53 aircraft components, to include propeller
repair.
- Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and
structural components of moderate to complex difficulty, including
but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatic,
fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems
in determining equipment malfunctions and discrepancies.
- Applies required expertise in restoring aircraft component
condition and or operation.
- Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to
complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as
blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, Local Engineering
Instructions, and work orders in manufacturing aircraft sheet metal
structures.
- Manufactures and installs new parts and reinforcing, patching,
and replacing defective parts, applies accurate riveting techniques
for proper spacing, fit, durability, structural soundness, and
appearance.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain qualifications in Advance Skills Management, attend or
complete online mandatory training.
- Assist in maintaining NAMP Programs, follows Ground Operating
Procedures, and ensure compliance with established safety
procedures.Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum experience or military experience as aircraft airframes
or sheet metal mechanic.
- Other Requirements:
- Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will
require the ability to access US only data system.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a NACI which could include a credit
check.

- To be able to perform research, a working knowledge with the
following is preferred: electronic publications like Interactive
Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), knowledge in navigating NATEC
website to access Technical Publications, service bulletins,
technical publications, blueprints, IPB (Illustrated Parts
Breakdown), MIM (Maintenance Instruction), LES (Local Engineering
Specifications), LPS (Local Process Specifications) and TEI
(Temporary Engineering Instructions).
- Business Partner/Effective Communicator:
- English language skills to communicate with customers.
- Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in
writing and orally.
- Ability to train others.
- Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior,
multi-task capability.

- The successful candidate's starting pay will be based on the
current rate agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
for this site.
- The following salary range is intended to display the current
per hour rate for this job.
- USD $88,000 - $91,000.
